Westminster, Colorado Patricia A. Madsen studied as an undergraduate at Brandeis University and the University Without Walls Program at Loretto Heights College. Judge Madsen earned her doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of Denver in 1976. Judge Madsen was appointed in 1989 to the Denver County Court, where she served two terms and still sits pro tem. She was also a magistrate in the Denver District Court in the Domestic Relations Division. Judge Madsen's judicial practice now focuses on water transactions and water rights litigation. She also has experience with proceedings before the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, family law, and state and federal civil litigation. Madsen has served as a National Institute for Trial Advocacy instructor, written for The Colorado Lawyer and the University of Denver Water Law Review. Judge Madsen is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Women's Bar Association, and Inter-American Bar Association. Since joining LRC in 2007, Judge Madsen's mediation and arbitration focus has been on water law, domestic cases and regulatory law. Current Employment Position:
